The Essential Skills course equips trainees with foundational personal, interpersonal, and workplace competencies required for effective performance, employability, and lifelong learning. The course focuses on developing communication, teamwork, problem-solving, digital literacy, self-management, and ethical work practices, which are critical for success in the modern workplace and society.
Course Rationale
Employers increasingly demand workers who possess not only technical skills but also essential (soft) skills that enhance productivity, adaptability, and professional conduct. This course supports the CBET approach by enabling trainees to demonstrate transferable skills that complement occupational competencies and improve employability in the Kenyan labour market.
